Brunswick Makes National News

Talk of high-speed rail hit major network news stations and radio yesterday. Two billion dollars is going to 15 states and Amtrak. This allocation of funds is focused on rapidly and significantly advancing the President's vision to "connect 80 percent of the nation to high-speed rail in the next 25 years."

With the Downeaster as one of the 22 "carefully selected projects", the benefits to Brunswick are clear.

"In Brunswick, Maine, once-unemployed construction workers are laying track that will provide the first rail service to Portland and Boston since the 1940s."
