Byrnes’ Irish Pub arrives at Maine Street Station for St. Patty’s Day, Feb 17th.

Byrnes’ Irish Pub at Maine Street Station is currently in the midst of construction with a grand opening scheduled for St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th. Byrnes' Admiral Steakhouse opened last summer in Bath to rave reviews. This is Byrnes' second pub location. He owns and operates a pub by the same name in Bath. "We very much look forward to joining downtown Brunswick's fabric," says Byrnes. “I hope all the residents of Brunswick, friends and family of the College, and visitors to the area are ready for acoustic Irish music, warm pub fare, and something cold on tap......and plenty of it!"

“Good Food, Good Drink, and Always a Good Time.”

Amtrak Bound For Brunswick and Maine Street Station.

On Thursday, January 28th, Maine Street Station was host to many local and state officials who announced that $35 million in stimulus money will be used to extend Amtrak passenger rail service from Portland to Brunswick by the end of 2012. The grant, which was made to the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority, will create 200 new jobs in the short term and boost local tourism, thanks to at least two planned daily round trip trains to Boston. The increased foot traffic and visibility for businesses at Maine Street Station and downtown Brunswick will be measurable when these trains begin to roll.

"If you build it, they will come," remarked U.S. Congresswoman Chellie Pingree. Phase I construction at Maine Street Station included a train station, which was completed this past month.
